ABOUT US

A Legacy of Art, Craft, and Care Since 1982

Founded in 1982, Avery Gallery has earned a national reputation as one of the Southeast’s most respected fine art galleries and restoration studios.

Located in historic Marietta, Georgia, the gallery combines decades of hands-on experience with a deep appreciation for the beauty and integrity of every piece that passes through its doors.

From antique masterpieces to contemporary works, Avery Gallery provides museum-quality restoration, conservation, and custom framing always with the goal of preserving both the art and the artist’s original vision. Our spacious, 9,000-square-foot facility houses dedicated departments for painting restoration, paper conservation, sculpture repair, and archival framing.

We proudly serve private collectors, galleries, museums, estates, and families across the United States and abroad.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

WE BELIEVE EVERY ARTWORK HAS A STORY WORTH PROTECTING. OUR PHILOSOPHY IS FOUNDED ON RESPECT, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND AUTHENTICITY, PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE EVERY RESTORATION AND FRAMING PROJECT WE UNDERTAKE.

ALL CONSERVATION TREATMENTS USE ARCHIVAL, REVERSIBLE MATERIALS THAT EXCEED THE STANDARDS SET BY THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR CONSERVATION (AIC), ENSURING EACH PIECE CAN BE ENJOYED FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.

OUR TEAM

BEHIND EVERY PROJECT IS A TEAM OF DISTINGUISHED ARTISTS, CONSERVATORS, AND CRAFTSMEN BRINGING SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND DECADES OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE TO BEAR, REALIZING THE EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS THAT ARE OUR TRADEMARK.

Monica Glenn
Co-Owner, Director of Painting Restoration & Paper Preservation

Monica joined Avery Gallery in 1998 and brings over 25 years of restoration expertise. She holds an Associate of Fine Art degree from the University of Bridgeport and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting with a minor in Art History from the University of Connecticut. While at UCONN, Monica studied color theory with Paul Zelanski, a student of Josef Albers, artist and author of Interaction of Color, the seminal work on color theory published in 1963 on which Zelanski’s course was based. Monica leads our painting and paper conversation departments with a focus on authenticity and precision.

Jason Cochrane
Co-Owner, Director of Framing & Sculpture Restoration

Jason joined Avery Gallery in 2007 and leads our custom framing and sculpture restoration departments. A graduate of the Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD), Jason earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Sculpture with a minor in Printmaking. He brings a sculptor’s understanding of structure and design to every framing and restoration project.

John Crawford
Senior Restoration & Framing Specialist

John joined Avery Gallery in 2000 and works across both restoration and framing departments. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design with a minor in Photography. Combining technical precision with artistic sensibilities, John’s skillset advances the gallery’s success in making aesthetic framing decisions for the variety of works that we encounter.  As a restoration specialist, he is responsible for the stabilizing of oil paintings in the lining process.

Barbara Viglione
Art Conservator

Barbara joined Avery Gallery in 2014, apprenticing under Shae Avery, a Smithsonian trained conservator until his death in 2021. Her innate talent and conscientious nature have made her an invaluable asset to the team as a specialist in paper preservation. A natural artist, set capably works across departments, restoring paintings on canvas, objects, sculpture, and textiles.

OUR LEGACY

For more than four decades, Avery Gallery has served as a trusted resource for collectors, museums, and families preserving their artistic heritage. Our mission remains the same today as when we began: to combine technical excellence with deep respect for every work of art entrusted to our care.

We look forward to helping you restore, frame, and protect the art that matters most to you.
